Dr. Matthew Jenkins studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill recieving his degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Chemistry. Immediately after UNC Dr. Jenkins taught school for a year at Williamston Middle School in Williamston, NC. He taught 6th grade Science, 7th grade Math, and 8th grade Math and Science. Dr. Jenkins loved teaching but knew he his calling was helping people, so a year later Dr. Jenkins attended Palmer Collge of Chiropractic Florida. Dr. Jenkins has worked in a large multi-doctor clinic in Florida honing his skills and increasing his passion for helping others. Dr. Jenkins believes there should be a start to care and an end to care with correction of the problem. Dr. Jenkins has an upfront financial policy and truly is compasssionate for everybody. Dr. Tharnish graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida in 2006. Prior to studying chiropractic, she attended Metropolitan State College in Denver, CO, where she majored in Human Performance and Sport, with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology. Dr. Tharnish has had rewarding practice experiences treating infants to the elderly. She focuses on active rehabilitation and exercise with her patients. She has completed comprehensive training from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego in whiplash and brain injury traumatology. This training allows her to provide top notch care for patients after an auto accident.
Penni Vachon, APRN received her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2004 from the New Hampshire Technical Institute and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Excelsior College in 2009. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing with a focus as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010. She is currently working on her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has been an orthopedic nurse since 2004 and an orthopedic nurse practitioner since 2011. She worked with a prominent hand and shoulder surgeon for 4 years within the Roper Physician Partners system. She assisted in surgery in addition to having her own clinic. She believes in bringing a holistic approach to her patient care. She treats her patients as she would treat her own family – with a caring touch.
Dr. Carey Capell is a retired Air Force pediatrician and flight surgeon who has practiced in Charleston since 2005. He entered the Air Force after graduating from The Citadel in 1971. He received his D.O. degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and later received a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Capell is interested in all forms of manipulative therapy, with special attention to craniosacral therapy. Dr. Capell is acting medical director of the Charleston Pain Relief Center, where he over sees patient treatment and medical protocols.
