Dr. Tharnish graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida in 2006. Prior to studying chiropractic, she attended Metropolitan State College in Denver, CO, where she majored in Human Performance and Sport, with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology. Dr. Tharnish has had rewarding practice experiences treating infants to the elderly. She focuses on active rehabilitation and exercise with her patients. She has completed comprehensive training from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego in whiplash and brain injury traumatology. This training allows her to provide top notch care for patients after an auto accident.
Dr. Justin Tretera was born & raised right here in Charleston, South Carolina. Since he was a young lad, he has experienced the sports medicine world through the variety of sports he played at his high school, Northwood Academy. He continued his proactive experience while attending The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina playing football and interning in the Strength & Conditioning room. After graduating in 2013, Dr. Tretera continued his passion for healthcare in Florida receiving his doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic. He comes into the practice bringing top quality care and a wealth of knowledge on functional movement, athletic performance, and rehabilitation procedures to correct and return patients back to every day life.
Kyle Smith, DNP, APRN, AGNP-C received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2009 from Clemson University. She started her career as an Orthopedic nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina working with patients involved in various traumas with a wide spectrum of orthopedic injuries. Throughout this time, she provided care and rehabilitation for patients who underwent total knee, hip, and shoulder replacement surgeries. Two years later, she transitioned to the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit where she cared for patients with debilitating brain and spinal cord injuries. While working as a nurse, she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice degrees at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Her passion for caring for patients led her to Charleston Pain Relief Center. She believes in providing holistic care for patients by implementing natural therapies to eliminate pain at the root of the problem, rather than merely covering symptoms. Improving each and every patient’s quality of life is her ultimate goal.
Dr. Carey Capell is a retired Air Force pediatrician and flight surgeon who has practiced in Charleston since 2005. He entered the Air Force after graduating from The Citadel in 1971. He received his D.O. degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and later received a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Capell is interested in all forms of manipulative therapy, with special attention to craniosacral therapy. Dr. Capell is acting medical director of the Charleston Pain Relief Center, where he over sees patient treatment and medical protocols.
